Derek A. Corbin is a multi-disciplined visual artist. He was born and raised in Charlotte North Carolina where his artistic ability blossomed as a young child. He eventually began studies at the University of Charlotte, thus fostering Corbin's innate visual talents. Realizing his passion for the visual arts, Corbin began work on his own projects that led into a life-long artistic endeavor.

      Using his unique ability in illustration, he began working as a painter to colorfully present his work. Self educating himself in Trompe l' oeil and other mural painting techniques and concepts, it eventually led into an exploration in the fine arts of canvas paintings. Working with acrylics, then oils, his style has been classically inspired and consists of a high attention to detail.

      And now, his long list of projects has spread throughout the Charlotte and surrounding area, along with reaching into other states and regions. His projects include pencil and charcoal sketches, massive wall murals, commissioned canvas pieces, and theatrical backdrops and set design. As the list continues to grow, he is continuously striving to further his artistic development.
